The expanded world of payments with Ingenico

Ingenico is a France-based merchant services technology company that also manufactures POS terminals and effectuates electronic payments. Founded in 1980, Ingenico was acquired in 2020 by Worldline for $8.6 billion, and then began operating as an independent company in October 2022 following its acquisition by Apollo Funds.

Onsite at Money20/20, The FR sat down with Bradford Giles, SVP of Marketing and Sales Enablement at Ingenico. Giles outlines:

  • How a giant like Ingenico evaluates technological trends—either deciding to react to shifts in the market, or waiting to see how the playing field unfolds;

  • How Ingenico has helped merchants deliver the best of an online experience in brick-and-mortar settings through new software and hardware;

  • The contours of Ingenico’s executive user group, which helps (sometimes competing) merchants and acquirers develop more innovative, consumer-focused solutions;

  • The benefits of being a global company with European origins, and the insights that come from Ingenico’s multisitedness;

  • The expanded scope of Ingenico’s mission, which reaches far beyond POS systems; and

  • The efforts Ingenico has undertaken to alter how businesses and consumers interact and identify with Ingenico.
