Tipping Our Hat to the Disrupters and Trailblazers
/We make it our goal at The FR to bring you the latest and greatest trends and companies in fintech. Toward that end, we were delighted to attend the MassChallenge FinTech Finale last week, where we met up-and-coming firms looking to disrupt the space and change finance for the better.
MassChallenge FinTech is a program matching enterprise-ready startups with industry-leading corporate partners. As a proud partner of the program, we were excited to see what the 21 start-up finalists had to offer:
Diffeo: The $100K Diamond Winner Diffeo is an innovative, AI-powered research tool that acts as a kind of personal research assistant.
Surround Insurance: Our new friends at Surround Insurance, the $60K Platinum Winner, provide customized, bespoke insurance policies focused on sharing, renting and the gig economy – a segment oft overlooked by traditional insurance policies.
Posh: And $40K Gold Winner Posh creates conversational AI tools so financial firms can offer customer services, sales and marketing chatbots to their clients.
We’d also like to give a special shoutout to:
Pinkaloo: It fell just short of appearing on the podium, but earns props from us for its mission of revolutionizing charitable giving (and we vote for it as most creatively named company, along with having a great CEO).
ForwardLane: We enjoyed chatting with this trailblazer focused on augmenting the capabilities of financial professionals by empowering them to determine where to best spend their time in order to maximize client engagements and deliver personalized financial services to their full book of customers.
WalletFi: Were were also impressed with this company, which provides technology to help users manage their subscription and ongoing charges, as well as bounce back from lost, stolen or reissued cards.
Ultimately, all the MassChallenge FinTech start-ups are helping to reshape financial services for the future. We’re excited to follow their continued progress.
And, we’re already looking forward to the announcement of the next round of MassChallenge FinTech start-ups. (Heads up: Applications open September 9.)
