Ethereum co-founder Anthony Di Iorio bids adieu to crypto
/Anthony Di Iorio, a co-founder of the Ethereum network, says he’s leaving the crypto world out of concern for his personal safety.
Why should we care?
Since 2017, Di Iorio has required a security team to accompany him on his travels. The Canadian entrepreneur is expected to sell Decentral, an innovation hub and software company that focuses on decentralized technologies and the creator of Jaxx, a digital asset wallet that gained about 1 million customers this year. The Ethereum co-founder plans to sell the company with fiat money or equity in a separate company. In addition, he said he is not planning on funding any additional blockchain projects and cutting ties with many startups with which he collaborates. Instead, he plans to focus on philanthropy and non-crypto ventures. Among his current projects: Project Arrow, which aims to build a vehicle with no emissions; and consulting for a Paraguayan senator. “I will incorporate crypto when needed, but a lot of times, it’s not. It’s really a small percentage of what the world needs,” he said.
