Insurtech Cover Genius expands network through deal with logistics solutions provider

Cover Genius, a New York-based insurtech that focuses on covering e-commerce consumers, entered into a partnership with logistics solutions provider Descartes Systems Group. The arrangement will offer Cover Genius’ ecommerce shipping insurance products for Descartes customers in the US.

Why should we care?
Working with Descartes, Cover Genius can enhance its client network as consumers increasingly depend on e-commerce supply chain networks during the pandemic. The tie-up will aim to protect Descartes customers from unforeseen circumstances during the delivery process. The arrangement also helps Cover Genius build on its extensive network of e-commerce partners, including Booking Holdings, eBay, Intuit, Wayfair, Despegar, Automatrix, AXS, and National Express. The company claims to disrupt traditional providers reliant on manual processes through its global distribution platform and XClaim, an API for instant payment of approved claims. The 6-year-old company has raised $22.3 million, according to Crunchbase.
