GoDaddy launches invoicing and payments for web designers and developers
GoDaddy, the domain registrar and web hosting company, is pushing ahead into financial technology by rolling out invoicing and payments capabilities for web designers and developers who use its platform. The invoicing and payments capability is part of GoDaddy Pro, which is GoDaddy’s hub for web designers and developers, allowing them to manage a portfolio of websites in one place, regardless of host.
Why should we care?
GoDaddy’s launch of payments and invoicing capabilities for its client web designers and developers is its latest foray into fintech. The company two years ago partnered with Kabbage (now owned by American Express) on a small-business line of credit offering of up to $250,000. With payments added to the GoDaddy hub for client web designers and developers, GoDaddy is encouraging its customers to carry out all of their business and financial transactions in one place without having to tap competing payments and invoice providers. GoDaddy is monetizing the service through a “small per-transaction fee” when its clients collect payments online with GoDaddy Payments. “We're providing our GoDaddy Pro members with a new solution to more efficiently manage their business invoicing and payments,” said Tara Wellington, a product lead at GoDaddy.
